About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Join us on Sunday afternoon May 4 for our annual Picnic With the Trees. This event is for all the Jews of the Greater Boston area.

  • Drinks and pareve desserts provided by The Adams Street Shul.
  • Backyard and bunnies for kids to pet and feed provided by The Wagner Family.
  • Blooming trees and beautiful weather* provided by Hashem.

There is a blessing that we can say only once a year.(at most) when we first see two (or more) different kinds of fruit trees in bloom simultaneously. At the picnic, guest rabbis will share thoughts on trees. And then we will all get to say the blessing over the trees together.

Participation is free. Donations are appreciated. Please RSVP! To help us plan for the desserts and drinks and seating, please click the "Get Tickets" button.

Thanks! Looking forward to a lovely gathering.

* In case of bad weather, we will hold the event at The Adams Street Shul, and you can do a "brive-by berachah." I that case, don't bring a picnic lunch; the Shul will provide a kosher/dairy lunch. If unsure, visit the shul's website, www.AdamsStreet.org, to check on the location event.

We are an independent, historic orthodox synagogue that serves a diverse congregation and the broader community. We provide a place for davening (prayer), learning, and spiritual growth; and a social environment where we celebrate holidays and life-cycle events together.

We are haimish — a warm, caring, welcoming community where everyone can contribute and be active in the life of the congregation, build on the traditions of our founders, and link the Jewish past to the future.

We are a Modern Community. We hope you will visit us when you visit Boston. If you live here, we hope you will participate in our educational classes, religious services, and holiday celebrations.

We are a Historic Shul. The Adams Street Shul is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. We are now in our second century of service to the Jewish community. Part of our mission is to preserve and maintain this historic building, with the help of many supportive friends.
