Our special event for August will be a refrigerator pickle making party! You can pickle many different vegetables from the garden and they are easy to make and store in the fridge- no heat canning needed. We'll provide any veggies ready in our gardens and encourage you to do the same. No veggies ready? The farmer's market is a great option. Suggestions are: cucumbers, carrots, onions, green/ wax beans, and beets. This is also Mackenzie's last full week with us, so come by to wish her well and check out her the results of her independent project at the nursery- an urban agriculture demo area full of food!
What to bring:

<LI>jars with lids- washed well and rinsed</LI>
<LI>vegetables- washed</LI>
<LI>vinegar- white or apple cider</LI>
<LI>salt- Kosher or sea is best to prevent discoloration</LI>
<LI>head of garlic</LI>
<LI>fresh dill, including flowers</LI>
<LI>mustard seeds, red pepper flakes, peppercorns, corriander, cumin- any spice you think will be delicious</LI>

Parking:
The nursery has on-site parking. We'll be at the building farthest away from the road.
