Photography Class for Beginners May 18

Ever wanted to take better photos? Is your camera collecting dust? Are you willing to commit to one long afternoon of learning?Here is what I will promise you:
-No more Auto Mode
-Learn the basics to dramatically improve your photos
-Learn how to edit images - which is half of photography in the digital age
-Understand the keys to getting more from your camera

And by the end of the class, I guarantee you will be able to take and edit an image - that can be printed and framed and hung on the mantle in your house.The class will be taught in my studio which is a huge treehouse in my back yard. We have a kitchen in the treehouse and dinner will be included.

Why so long? And why so late?
We're going to cover a lot but we're going to be very thorough and take our time. Sunset is at 8:30 pm that day so we want to be able to take some sunset photos before we leave.

Camera or Not
A camera is not required but trust me, you're going to want one immediately after the class so you might as well go ahead and get one beforehand. A computer is not required but it is vital to learning how to edit so bring one if you can. A tripod is recommended but again not required.

Any Camera Will Work But....
I use Canon and I prefer to teach on Canon. Canon equipment is not required because the fundamentals are the same on any camera but I know my way around Canon equipment much better. If you do not have a camera but want one, email me before the class and we will work thru what equipment is best for you based on your budget and your plans for future photography.

Editing Software
I edit images using Lightroom by Adobe. It is a fee based software program. This is not required but this is the platform I use to edit in the class. It is the most popular program available and if you are serious about learning photography, trust me and get a subscription before class starts. It's usually in the $10 per month range. Editing is literally half of photography.

Less Talking, More Capturing
We will start the class in a classroom style setting for an hour or two, the rest of the time we will be taking and editing images - with lots of breaks. I live near an arboretum where we will walk to get some sunset images.Classes will be kept small to allow as much one-on-one teaching as possible. Once this class fills up, we won't be able to add any others.

Cost
The cost of the class is $200. This includes everything. This also gives you access to all future education. Under 18 years old is $100.

The class is open to all beginners but my plan is for you to leave class ready to photograph the world so I hope to have serious attendees.
