Cultivating Community through Creativity.ArtsConnect in historic downtown Clarksville aims to support local arts, build community relationships, provide a forum for public discourse, and cultivate creativity. Join us each Thursday evening  for diverse, engaging arts and culture programs.Art Gallery (First Thursday)Open Mic Night (Second Thursday)Literary Roundtable (Third Thursday)Cinema Night (Fourth Thursday)Our objective is to inform and (somewhat) to entertain, to raise the level of local public discourse around local and regional arts, and to provide adults an opportunity outside the formal educational setting to engage in discourse that approaches a graduate student seminar or upper-level undergrad discussion class.  An aspect of our interest is to model an irenic approach to disagreement in a public forum, whenever disagreement arises.

<p>An evocative and haunting drama, set in rubble-strewn 1945 Berlin.  A masterful exploration of human identity through the eyes of a Jewish-German holocaust survivor.  Former cabaret singer (Nina Hoss) has her bullet-disfigured face reconstructed and returns home to seek out her gentile husband, who may or may not have betrayed her to the Nazis. Without recognizing her, he enlists her to play his wife in a bizarre hall-of-shattered-mirrors story that is as richly metaphorical as it is preposterously engrossing. Revenge film or tale of romantic reconciliation? One doesn’t know until the stunning final scene of this masterpiece from Christian Petzold, one of the most important figures in contemporary German cinema.</p>
