THE MEETUPThis month is all about Open Source Projects! We're excited to welcome some great developers and Open Source contributors to share their expertise on getting involved in Open Source projects:Josh Goldberg is a full time open source maintainer working on projects in the TypeScript ecosystem such as typescript-eslint. He’s also the author of the Learning TypeScript book, published by O'Reilly.Ricardo Signes spent four years studying philosophy and religion before learning that jobs in those fields did not abound. He managed to convert his hobby into his profession, convincing his employer that it was a good idea to pay him to create software in Perl. Since then, he has become a prolific CPAN author, part of the "Toolchain Gang" that maintains the PAUSE and CPAN infrastructure, and spent five years as "Pumpking," the Perl 5 project manager. Ricardo is currently CTO at Fastmail, where he manages a team writing and maintaining free and proprietary software, much of it written in Perl 5. He is currently a member of the Perl Steering Council, helping to guide the evolution of the Perl language. In his free time, Rik writes code to help making writing code easier.THE SPACEThis meetup is at <a href="https://indyhall.org/clubhouse/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Indy Hall’s Clubhouse</a> which includes lots of space to spread out, lots of high quality &amp; natural airflow, and a beautiful view of the city.To keep our community as safe as possible, we’re working within <a href="https://indyhall.org/health-safety/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Indy Hall’s current COVID policies</a> which include:<ul><li>In order to attend, you must register.</li><li>You must provide proof of full vaccination (including booster). Digital photos and paper cards are both accepted.</li><li>While full vaccination is required, mask wearing is welcome but optional in all indoor spaces.</li><li>If you discover that you have been exposed to COVID, you may not attend for 7 days after the exposure (regardless of symptoms).</li></ul>Our max capacity for these events at Indy Hall will be 40 people. Since space is limited, if you register and later decide not to attend, please cancel your RSVP to make room for someone else.Approx 24 hours before the event, all RSVPd attendees will receive specific instructions for building access.
