Peterson Toscano's Everything is Connected
National Coming Out Day Performance
Join us for National Coming Out Day!
Scholar and Storyteller Peterson Toscano, who grew up in Stamford, will share his life experiences with LGBTQIA+ issues, conversion therapy, gender, sexism, religion, and bigotry through his solo show. Discover how identity, climate, and justice intertwine in this engaging, thought-provoking performance. With humor, insight, and heart, Toscano weaves together personal narrative and global themes in a way only he can. Introducing Peterson and facilitating Q&A after his performance will be drag performer Ambrosia Black!
Everything is Connected: An Afternoon of Stories, Most Weird, Many True
This event is best suited for ages 14 and up
(45-60 minutes run time plus feedback session)
Experience the artful, playful, outrageously funny, and deeply moving storytelling craft of Peterson Toscano. Connecting issues and ideas to bizarre personal experiences, literature, science, and even the odd Bible story, Peterson transforms right before your eyes into a whole cast of comic characters who explore the serious worlds of gender, sexuality, privilege, religion, and environmental justice. Peterson shares three completely different stories that appear to have nothing to do with each other, and with a simple theatrical move, he connects them all together. See Peterson morph into multiple comic characters as he travels to the past and the future. It is weird, wonderful, and surprisingly inspirational.
