Perspectives Over Pints: Chapter V
In this chapter we'll discuss Americas fascination with Mormon women.
Perspectives Over Pints is a monthly lecture series exploring the intersection of Utah and contemporary culture — from environment to industry to public life. Each talk delivers a straightforward look at what’s happening and why it matters. Come for the talk, stay for the pint, leave with a new perspective.
In this chapter we'll discuss Americas fascination with Mormon women.
Come explore why Mormon women have become such a compelling presence in American pop culture. We’ll unpack how they shape their own narratives, navigate visibility and expectation, and what happens when they realize their cultural cachet.
Our featured speaker is Rebekah Duckett. Rebekah attended BYU and the University of Wyoming earning a Bachelor and Master of Arts degrees respectively. Her work has largely concentrated on the portrayal of race and gender in Mormon art. She has worked as an archivist at Utah Valley University and the Church History Library.
This is a ticketed event and will take place at Fisher Brewing Company 320 W 800 S, Salt Lake City, UT 84101. You must be 21+ to attend.
