About this event

  • 7 hours

Who is this for?

Are you a counselling trainee, a qualified counsellor or someone who's just really interested in self-development? Perhaps you're looking for some CPD and would love the opportunity to connect with others as a meaningful way of learning about yourself.

The group is open to those over the age of 18 - with or without experience of therapy or groups.

****************************

Join us for a day of deep process where you will feel challenged and inspired by meeting yourself in relation to others in a safe and confidential space. This isn’t group therapy but can be therapeutic and offers the opportunity for personal growth where you can meet others authentically.

Taking part in a Personal Development group can help us to grow in confidence, to know more clearly what we want and need, to understand ourselves and the world around us, to find where we begin and end, to make clear choices and not be overwhelmed by choice. We will explore the ways in which we hold ourselves back and limit our horizons; in short, to live a full and meaningful life we must engage with it, and personal development is just one tool we can use to help us.

Our personal development group runs quarterly. It offers support for personal growth and development. It can be a powerful and rarefied time, in which great personal growth occurs and strong relationships develop.

The group is limited to a maximum of 10 participants

***CPD certificates for 6 hours will be provided on the day upon request.***

What is personal development?

This type of group work is a powerful experience for those wishing to develop their self-awareness through relationship to others. It can be immensely helpful with many personal issues such as:

- Conflict resolution

- Anxiety

- Being heard and seen

- Becoming more authentic

- Becoming more assertive

- Exploring identity

- Exploring meaning and purpose of life

….the list goes on!

There is no set agenda, just a flexible plan for the day; you will be invited to be still and to get in touch with whatever is present for you in the moment. You may choose to share, giving others a chance to see what comes up for them as a result. Rather than a conversation, the group will explore emerging themes that move away from presentational chit-chat and small talk to get to the nub of what it is to be human.

'Su and Steve facilitated a day of deep process that was safe, intimate, connected, healing , vulnerable and wonderful. Not for the faint-hearted but not to be missed? Sam O.

'Really powerful experience, great for personal growth, insight and getting out of my comfort zone in a helpful way. Thank you!' TS

'The approach works well in a small group with space for individualised exploration of psyche within the group setting. The day passed quickly and felt like a privelege to attend and be really seen/witnessed/make connections with others'. NC
