Persian Calligraphy Workshop

Overview

Persian Calligraphy Workshop w/ Rezvan Rasouli. Celebrate Nowruz w/ Haft-Seen altar. Sun 3/29, 3–5pm @ Feldman’s. Donation-based ($20)

Persian Calligraphy Workshop

Sunday, March 29th, 2-5 p.m • Feldman’s Books

Join us on Sunday, March 29th from 3–5pm for a Persian Calligraphy Workshop led by Rezvan Rasouli, an interdisciplinary artist working across new media, film, and drawing. A graduate of Columbia College Chicago’s MFA program in Interdisciplinary Arts and Media, her practice brings together visual poetry, gesture, and tradition in a living exploration of form.

This special afternoon gathering is offered as a donation-based event ($20 suggested), with guests invited to come and go as they please between 3–5pm in celebration of Nowruz, the Persian New Year and the arrival of spring. At the center of the shop, a ceremonial table will be arranged in the spirit of the Haft-Seen—an altar adorned with symbolic objects including garlic, apples, eggs, coins, candles or tulips, olives, sumac, vinegar, oleaster, dried olives, a holy book, and the poetry of Hafez.

More than a workshop, this gathering is an invitation: to slow down, to write, and to enter into the ancient dignity of Persian calligraphy as both art and ritual. Together, we honor not only the turning of the season, but a cultural tradition that continues to shape beauty, meaning, and memory across generations.

Donations are warmly welcomed. Learn more about Rezvan’s work at her website: https://rezvanrasouli.com/
