Sustainable Solano is a grassroots, countywide movement uniting people through work that aims to serve the future of Solano County, to promote ecologically regenerative, economically and socially just communities in a world that works for everyone. We nurture initiatives for the good of the whole. Sustainable Solano has grown out of decades of dedicated community work that started with community gardens and has grown to include an emphasis on creating sustainable, regenerative environments, community capacity building, supporting local food systems and building youth leadership and workforce skills for a better future.

Learn how Elizabeth Crachiolo transformed her yard to be eco-friendly through taking a Permaculture Design Certification Course.

Join us December 15 for a live presentation on how newly certified Permaculture Designer, Elizabeth Crachiolo applied permaculture principles to transform her yard into a healthy ecosystem!Elizabeth was inspired to take a Permaculture Design Certification course to convert her standard suburban lot in Woodland, CA (growing zone 9b) into a thriving permaculture food forest. As we face the effects of the climate crisis, she was empowered to improve the health of her little ecosystem and is hopeful about the environmental potential of suburban lots. She found permaculture design solutions to address winter flooding and compacted and contaminated soil within the constraints of a traditional neighborhood. She will share wisdom, mistakes and lessons learned in her ongoing process of transforming her landscape to be eco-friendly.Beginning January 2021, Sustainable Solano will be hosting a <a href="http://sustainablesolano.org/pdc/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Permaculture Design Certification</a> course n Benicia, CA.<a href="https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2021-permaculture-design-certificate-course-wlydia-neilsen-anne-freiwald-tickets-120084561155" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"></a>*$5-$20 suggested donation. As a small, community-based organization, every little bit helps. Your donations will help support our offerings to the community and give us the ability to add more virtual classes. If you can donate at this time, we are very grateful! There have been fraudulent attempts made to charge people for tickets to our events on social media. While we addressed this immediately, we want you to be aware of the situation. While we ask for donations through Eventbrite, PayPal, cash or check, we do not currently sell tickets to our talks and workshops, which are offered for free. We work hard to be transparent and earn your trust.
