Permaculture 101:  Patterns & Principles

Sustainable Solano is a grassroots, countywide movement uniting people through work that aims to serve the future of Solano County, to promote ecologically regenerative, economically and socially just communities in a world that works for everyone. We nurture initiatives for the good of the whole. Sustainable Solano has grown out of decades of dedicated community work that started with community gardens and has grown to include an emphasis on creating sustainable, regenerative environments, community capacity building, supporting local food systems and building youth leadership and workforce skills for a better future.

Join us November 1 for a an introduction class on Permaculture!Did you know that you can create sustainable landscapes that work with nature to create systems that work together in harmony for healthier soil, plants, planet and people? Permaculture is an approach that reflects on patterns in nature and offers principles that can be used to shape a regenerative path that heals the environment and can be carried from how we work with the land to how we approach our internal work, how we interact with others and society at large.Permaculture can offer a solutions-based lens for examining how things are now and envisioning what comes next. We invite you to join this talk on the fundamentals of permaculture and see how you can apply it to your life, your community and your landscape.“Though the problems of the world are increasingly complex, the solutions remain embarrassingly simple.” Bill MollisonAbout Lydia Nielsen and Anne FriewaldLydia &amp; Anne bring together extensive backgrounds in community health and permaculture education and activism. Curiosity about and study of Alchemy and Biodynamic herbs inspires a deep integration of the health of the land and the health of the individual. We have an action-based perspective that highlights skills, practices and resources necessary for growth, creativity, and vitality in person and place. Anne &amp; Lydia are currently teaching a Permaculture Design Certification course in Benicia, CA<a href="https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2021-permaculture-design-certificate-course-wlydia-neilsen-anne-freiwald-tickets-120084561155" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"></a>*$5-$20 suggested donation.
