No Silence on Race, the Ontario Jewish Archives and Facing History and Ourselves are pleased to launch Periphery film curriculum and educator resources. Periphery is an evocative photographic and film project that bears witness to ethnic diversity in the Jewish community. This event is to engage Jewish and non-Jewish teachers grade 8-12, adult educators, and community members in a conversation about the history and identities of multiracial and multiethnic Jews in Canada through Periphery curriculum. We will explore how to connect Periphery to learning and engagement in the classroom on issues related to intersectional identity, Jewish identity, race, antisemitism, multiculturalism in Canada and social justice.During this event, participants will hear from the filmmaker and following the screening members from No Silence on Race and Facing History will facilitate breakout sessions using the Periphery Film curriculum and educator resources.Following the event, participants will have access to the Periphery film curriculum and educator resources. Schedule:6:30pm – 6:40pm: Brief Introductions from organizers 6:40pm – 7:10pm: Periphery film screening 7:10pm – 7:15pm: Short break7:15pm – 7:50pm: Curriculum discussion and workshop7:55pm-8:00: Share and Close session8:00: End This event has been generously supported by: UJA Genesis, Living Jewishly and ROI Community Schusterman Initiative.The project is funded by the ADL
