The DPSST Fire Program’s PerFORMance: Training Program Management course is designed to familiarize the student with the Fire Certification section’s purpose, benefits, forms, requirements, and much more. By the conclusion of the course, students will come away with:


• A general understanding of the purpose of DPSST Fire Certification.

• The knowledge of Fire Program points of contact and how they can help.

• How to build a training file based on your agency’s needs.

• How to successfully fill out and submit:

• PAFs/E-1s

• Applications for Certification

• Applications to Instruct (F-9F)

• Applications for Certification of a Course (F-20)

• An understanding of several certification requirements and processes from the perspectives of both the Oregon fire service and Fire Program staff. Examples include background checks, fingerprint requirements, and how Oregon Administrative Rules update and opportunities forthe Oregon fire service’s participation in these updates.

• Ways to stay informed on DPSST matters. This course is interactive and students are encouraged to engage in discussion and ask questions.
