A collection of scores exploring objects, life transitions, states of mind, and states of the world.

About the Show

Over the last three years, we lost our teacher and artistic home, but not our resolve to stay together. Join a gathering of family, friends, and artistic community to witness works in progress developed during the pandemic over Zoom and, more recently, in our new home, Milk Bar. What stories do tables and frames provoke? How do we mark love, time, and death? What draws us toward one another — and pushes us away? Explore these and other questions in a variety of scores combining movement, voice, and video. Featuring Adrian Arias, Lesley Chapman, Brian Collentine, Amy Cranch, Marguerite Etemad, Kecya Felix Donnelly, Sue Heinemann, Darcie Luce, Sherri Mills, Carol Naber, Michael Nugent, Ryan Reid, Craig Amos, Maggie Silverman and Kristi Williamson.

About Performance L.A.B.

Performance L.A.B. is an ensemble of movers and artists who studied with legendary dancer/choreographer Anna Halprin (1920–2021). For over 10 years we have been creating scores using the RSVP Cycles, a method developed by landscape architect Lawrence Halprin for simultaneously generating and evolving creative works. Drawing from specific intentions and activities, each score makes meaningful movement out of our lives and the world around us. We have performed at the de Young Museum, Mission Cultural Center, 500 Capp Street, Dance Mission Theater, BAMPFA, Minnesota Street Project, and Mountain Home Studio, as well as on the streets of San Francisco.
