Performance Engineering Meetup #7
Overview

Dive into real-world insights, best practices and hands-on strategies for optimizing software performance!

Event Overview

The Performance Engineering Community invites you to the 7th Performance Engineering Meetup, continuing the Performance Engineering Meetup series focused on practical, experience‑driven engineering discussions.

This edition looks at how Performance Engineering is evolving - from data‑driven load test assessment to the practical use of AI in performance investigations - based on real systems and real constraints.

Agenda

👨‍🏫 18:00 – Beyond Pass/Fail – Data‑Driven Load Test Analysis by Dominik Jeziorski (Tanium)

📉 Stop “eyeballing” Grafana dashboards and hoping for the best.
This talk explores the evolution of load test assessment - from subjective, manual interpretation to ✅ automated, data‑driven evaluation models that scale.

⚠️ We’ll highlight common pitfalls of static SLOs and show how 📈 percentage‑based baselines and ⚖️ weighted scoring models provide more reliable and comparable results over time.
You’ll learn how to turn raw performance data into objective signals that can be safely embedded into 🚀 CI/CD pipelines for real, repeatable decision‑making.

👨‍🏫 19:00 – AI‑Assisted Performance Engineering: Bottleneck Debugging - What Worked, What Didn’t & Open Discussion by Aodan O'Sullivan (Sabre)

🧠 This session presents a real‑world performance investigation where GitHub Copilot was used to analyze and diagnose a critical bottleneck across 314,000+ lines of diagnostic data - in seconds.

✅ We’ll walk through what worked
❌ what didn’t
🔍 and where AI genuinely helped or failed during capacity testing and troubleshooting.

🗣️ The session concludes with an open discussion on the practical role of AI in Performance Engineering today. Attendees are encouraged to share their own experiences - good or bad - using AI tools during performance testing or investigations.

👨‍🏫 20:00 – Networking

Meet the Speakers

Dominik Jeziorski – Performance Engineer at Tanium. With a decade of experience in the performance world, responsible for all aspects of the process, including implementing, reporting, suggesting improvements, and analyzing issues. A believer that good performance work starts with automated and repeatable pipelines. An innovator with a passion for eliminating manual toil. Outside of work, an IT geek interested in AI and gaming.

Aodan O’Sullivan - Aodan has been working in Performance Engineering for 25 years and in Sabre for nearly 18 years. He is passionate about sharing knowledge and music.

About the Performance Engineering Community

We are a community-driven initiative powered by Sabre, SII, Pega, IG Group, Allegro and commercetools. Our mission? Bringing engineers together to share knowledge, exchange experiences, and connect. But it’s not just about tech - it’s about people too. That’s why we make sure our meetups have a great vibe, with plenty of opportunities to chat, network, and just have a good time!

Photos may be taken during the event and published on the social networks and websites of SII, Sabre, Pega, IG Group, and Allegro for promotional and marketing purposes. Your participation will be understood as consent to the dissemination of your image.

The email address you provide during registration will be stored and used to communicate with you about future events and related initiatives.
