On October 23, 2025, La Union DC, in collaboration with Howard University School of Law’s Alianza, the Afro Latino Forum, and Dominicans Love Haitians, will host a screening of the film Perejil/Parsley. This event will be a poignant commemoration of the 1937 Parsley Massacre, followed by an engaging panel discussion.

The movie Perejil (also known as Parsley) is a 2021 Dominican film based on the 1937 Parsley Massacre, focusing on a pregnant Haitian woman named Marie who must flee to Haiti after the Dominican government orders the execution of all Haitians. The film depicts her dangerous journey to the Dajabón River, the complexities of race and identity, and the horror of the massacre, which was instigated by dictator Rafael Trujillo. The title refers to the "perejil" (parsley) test, a method used by soldiers to identify and kill Haitians based on their inability to pronounce the word with the correct Spanish accent.
