Thank you for joining us for this year's 2024 Clean the Bay Day at Fort Monroe.
FROM CTBD/ Ft Monroe Authority: (Updated 5/27/24)
Volunteers will be assigned sections to clean the beaches and associated areas along the Bay from The Chamberlin to the border with the National Park.
The Orientation site is the parking lot located at 300 Fenwick Road just past Battery Parrot on the right. Coordinates on Google Maps are: 37.003095, -76.304022. We will have tables set up on the north side of the parking lot for check-in.
Plan to be at the Orientation site between 8:30 and 8:45 for check in. If a child under the age of 18 is participating, you must sign a parental permission form at check-in. All volunteers will sign in at check-in the day of the cleanup. This is both a liability waiver and contact-information collector. Families may sign in as a single entry.
Once you have checked in we will give a short safety briefing as well as hand out equipment. We will provide buckets, plastic gloves, trash grabbers and trash bags however, you may bring your own equipment (grabbers, nets, buckets, etc.). Please wear closed-toe shoes and clothes that you don’t mind getting wet. Remember to bring sunscreen, hats and water for hydration.
Should we be rained out on June 1, an email will be sent as early as possible that day.
P ease sign up so we can tell Clean the Bay Day organizers how many of us are coming.
