Event description

Description

Penn State will be hosting a targeted developers' sprint Sept. 19-23, 2016 in State College, PA. The sprint will target generalized features of value to the broader community and not Penn State-specific requirements.

The sprint is divided into three main efforts:

  1. Import/Export of Bags - Architecture Level: Fedora
This effort will concentrate on building support into Fedora for importing, exporting, and round-tripping bags, with the ability to specify a BagIt profile, e.g., for APTrust and MetaArchive.

  2. Generalization of Plum Workflows - Architecture Level: CurationConcerns
This effort will work on generalizing extractable role and workflow features in Princeton’s Plum application so that they can be more easily used in other Hydra implementations.

  3. Administrative Dashboard - Architecture Level: Sufia and CurationConcerns
This effort will build on the user stories developed by the Hydra-in-a-Box project and at Penn State, to establish features that facilitate effective management of the repository.

Due to the focused nature of the event, participation is limited to 5 developers per effort. This is based on efficiency, research, and peace, love, and happiness.
