PEEKSHOW brings revolutionary performance artist Peekaboo Pointe from New York City to NM to present her mind blowing stop motion films that are at once melancholy and campy, taking head on issues such as the aging female body and what it means to be a performing artist in a digital age. As a queer multi-disciplinary artist, Peekaboo Pointe’s work celebrates the unveiled female form as a site of agency and subjecthood. PEEKSHOW includes a talk back between the artist and Dr. Lynn Sally, author of Neo-Burlesque: Striptease as Transformation. (Rutgers University Press, 2022), and professor of &quot;Performing Gender: Camp, Drag and Burlesque&quot; in the Gender &amp; Sexuality Studies Department at NMSU.PEEKSHOW @ NSMU 2/21/23, 6-7 pm (Screening) -- FREE.
