SaskBooks is the Creative Industry Association for the book publishing industry in Saskatchewan. In its 30th year of operation, SaskBooks offers business development, professional development, and a common forum for publishers, as well as marketing and promotion of Saskatchewan-published books.

A twenty-year publishing veteran, Margaret Bryant has worked in sales, marketing and category management for companies including Dundurn, Literary Press Group, and Chapters/Indigo. She is Sales Manager, Major Accounts at Orca Book Publishers.
In Marketing Best Practices, we’ll examine the elements of a successful book plan by exploring the essentials of marketing workflow from acquisition through post-publication, with the goal of preparing both author(s) and sales force(s) for maximum sales opportunities, including the scheduling of: -essential metadata (beyond the basics) -event planning (clarifying author expectations) -advance materials - from the author, and for the sales force -social media
