PBCore Workshop for Educators

WGBH Media Library and Archivesensures the long-term preservation and access to WGBH’s vast archive of programming and original materials, and has been stewarding the PBCore metadata standard since 2014 as part of the American Archive of Public Broadcasting initiative.

Join us for a two-day workshop focusing on teaching PBCore in the classroom!
This workshop is designed to support educators teaching metadata at library and archival science programs in developing curriculum materials around PBCore. The two-day workshop will include an introduction to the PBCore metadata standard; an overview of the available tools and utilities that support the use of PBCore at archival organizations; a review of available crosswalks and mappings; and collaborative small group time to workshop lesson plans and syllabi.
The workshop will run from approximately 9:30 AM-4:30 PM on Thursday and Friday, March 21-22. (Specific times may be subject to change.) Breakfast and lunch will be provided. 
The workshop is being held courtesy of the NEH-funded PBCore Development and Training Project.
