Tampa Bay Women's Business Centre(WBC), is part of a national network of WBC's dedicated to helping  entrepreneurs to launch and grow their own businesses.Funded through the Federal office of Women's Business Ownership, our team of professionals help entrepreneurs with training and coaching in entrepreneurial readiness, business plan development, networking, strategic planning, finance preparedness, career transition and access to capital.From registering your business to hiring your first employee, we’re here to help you start and grow your local small business. Tampa Bay Women’s Business Centre is a WBC resource partner, funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the Small Business Administration (SBA). The Office of Women’s Business Ownership’s mission is to establish and oversee a network of Women’s Business Centers (WBCs) throughout the United States and its territories. Through the management and technical assistance provided by the WBCs, entrepreneurs – especially women who are economically or socially disadvantaged – are offered comprehensive training and counseling on a vast array of topics to help clients start and grow their own businesses.It is currently the only WBC funded in part through a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) on the West Coast of Florida serving the needs of start-ups and existing owned businesses in our area. The U.S. Small Business Administration, in consultation with the Department of the Treasury, published a revised, borrower-friendly Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loan forgiveness application implementing the PPP Flexibility Act of 2020. As borrowers are getting ready to apply, they should educate themselves on the process and what the future has in store regarding access to capital.In this breakout session, you will learn about:<ul><li>How to apply for PPP loan forgiveness</li><li>Preparing to apply for an SBA loan in a post-COVID environment</li><li>The future of accessing capital in today’s market</li></ul>Reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities will be made if requested at least two weeks in advance. <h2>Presented By:</h2>Debra Salas, the Lead Lender Relations Specialist, Brand Manager and Youth Entrepreneurship Financial Literacy Liaison for the U.S. Small Business Administration. Formerly, she worked as VP, Director of Small Business Lending for Neighborhood Lending Partners (NLP), a non-profit CDFI. Prior to joining NLP, she worked in the non-profit field and academia, as well as owned and operated a small, alternative lending mortgage brokerage business in Miami. Debra was awarded the 2017 SBA Financial Advocate of the Year for the state of Florida, and for the South Florida District. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Hunter College and her Master’s degree from New York University.
