About this event

  • 3 hours 15 minutes

Gaining traction after her packed out headline show, Alex Kate will be serenading the crowd again with her catchy tunes and sharing her new EP for the first time.

Alex Kate is a singer, songwriter & producer of nostalgic pop. Her songs have been described as unforgettable, anthemic and brutally honest. Alex’s inspiration is pulled from my navigation of romance and its joys and woes. She uses her songs as a public diary to share her lessons as a cathartic hug to those who might be going through the same things. She was lucky to reach the "Long List" for the Glastonbury emerging talent competition 2023 and has had some great support for her music from BBC introducing and other radio stations who have compared her to Kate Bush.

She will be supported by Ebony Buckle & Pianist and composer Ty Rex from LA.

Ebony Buckle

Ebony Buckle is London-based conceptual pop artist, originally from Townsville, Australia. She writes and performs with her husband - musician and producer Nick Burns. With her music Ebony holds a mirror to herself and the world, reflecting the human want and struggle to fit in or break out.

Ebony’s debut album Disco Lasers came out in 2021, receiving critical acclaim from the likes of Earmilk and Atwood Magazine, who challenged their readers: “I defy you to name another album as colourful and imaginative as Ebony Buckle’s Disco Lasers''. The album is a collection of audio-visual stories inspired by folk tales and the crossroads between fiction and science, told through Buckle’s soaring vocals & imaginative songwriting.

Her upcoming album Hearts Get Started, will provide an insight into Buckle’s musical exploration of pop, rock and ambient pop over the past 4 years, described by some of her patrons who’ve heard the demos as the prequel to Disco Lasers.

Ebony’s unique voice was first recognised in the BBC’s drama Inspector George Gently, where she performed a version of Silver Dagger which reached number 1 in the iTunes World Music Charts.

Ty Rex

In the ever-evolving spheres of classical and ambient music, Ty Rex is diligently practicing a personal, sonic spirituality. A lifelong devotee of the piano and improvisation, Ty invites himself and the listener into a sanctuary of healing where the dichotomies of life, the unanswered questions and paradoxes, find rest.

Ty Rex (abbreviated from Tyler Rex) debuted his first album Rumors of War within the solitude of quarantine and a world in flux, capturing the existential questions of a generation facing loneliness and uncertainty. His subsequent long-form single Apricity (Genesis 210131) meditates on the arrival of spring from the poetic stillness of winter.

In person, Ty Rex has introduced "Open House," an intimate series that reconsiders the purpose of performance altogether. Attendees enter a multi-hour, improvised meditation from rotating musicians, while listening from cushions and pillows, sound-bath style in a restorative, rest-filled evening.

His upcoming EP, ‘Movement: Demos from Rigidity & Recovery’ releases this summer, 2024.
