"Rock and roll isn’t dead, it’s just gone underground. It may no longer be in the spotlight, but that doesn’t mean it’s sleeping either. Just ask Pawnshop Roses. They’ve been playing their brand of jangly, americana, bluesy rock for over two decades and show no signs of slowing down. Even the legends who have miraculously survived a half-century of drugs and touring in the fickle business of payola and handshake deals aren’t exactly celebrated today for being at the peak of their powers. That’s what makes Pawnshop Roses’s twenty years of omnipresence in the chopped-and-smothered meat grinder of Philly’s music scene such an extraordinary achievement. Pawnshop has found a kind of success in middle-age that most bands would kill for when they’re just starting out. Their 2021 EP, “Not That Proud” was hailed as a return to form - bluesy rock with heartfelt and contemplative lyrics - and was recognized with awards, accolades, and a selection for the band from legendary Philly radio station WMMR as Artist of the Month, February 2022.

The band’s most recent release, “Pardon Our Appearance - Live at Ardmore Music Hall” showcases that the band is still firing on all cylinders with a live track listing of songs spanning their entire career. When it comes to fuzz pedals and crunchy guitar riffs, you’re meant to burn out, rather than rust, or age like a fine wine - but Pawnshop has never been one to follow the rules."
