Come ready to paint!

Nestled in the northern foothills of the Olympic Mountains, Lake Crescent lies about 18 miles west of Port Angeles. The pristine waters of this deep, glacially carved lake make it an ideal destination for those in search of natural beauty.

Let's gather to paint this beautiful landscape of the lake and mountains west of Port Angeles along Hwy 101. Crescent Lake and the surrounding hills can present many moods. Who knows what it will show us.

Meeting location Day 1: I will be at the parking lot behind the Log Cabin resort, East Beach Road at 8AM and will stay to paint for several hours. I have a blue Subaru Forrester.

I will have a map of the area and locations to paint and hike.

*The National Park Service does not allow sales or solicitations on their property. Only their approved vendors can sell on park propery.

Lunch plans:

I suggest you bring your food for both days.

There are convenience stores at each end of the lake. Lake Crescent Lodge serves food but you might need reservations.

Granny's Cafe is just east of Lake Sutherland. Not always open.

There are restaurants and grocery stores in Port Angeles.

After lunch: TBD

End of day plan: Meet at Log Cabin Resort next to the lake at 4:30 PM.

Meeting location Day 2:

Lake Crescent Lodge along HWY 101. 8 AM. About halfway between the east and west ends of the lake.

*The National Park Service does not allow sales or solicitations on their property. Only their approved vendors can sell on park propery.

End of day plan: Meet at Lake Crescent Lodge 4:30 pm.

Directions:

Go 20 miles west on Hwy 101 after Port Angeles. Turn right onto East Beach Road. Continue to Log Cabin Resort.

Recommended Lodging/camping:

The best camping is a Fairholme campground at the West end of Lake Crescent. It books up fast, so make a reservation early.

There is an RV and campground, Shadow Mountain RV just east of Lake Crescent (I have no experience with them).

You can check for vacation rentals, Airbnb, etc. near the lake. Lake Sutherland is also just east of Lake Crescent and they have vacation rentals.
