What should I bring to the workshop?

Please bring a fitted shirt, leggings, and old garments (t-shirts, jeans, or any fabric items) you wish to upcycle. All other materials will be provided, including professional ruler sets and cases for patternmaking.

Is this workshop suitable for beginners?

Yes! This workshop is perfect for beginners as well as those with some experience. We’ll walk you through the basics of patternmaking and upcycling techniques, so you’ll leave with your own custom patterns and skills

How long is the workshop?

The workshop is a 2-day event, with each session lasting 3 hours (6 hours total). Expect hands-on learning, where you’ll be creating custom patterns for your upcycling projects.

Do I need prior experience with sewing or patternmaking?

No prior experience is required! The workshop is designed for all skill levels. You will receive step-by-step guidance, so you’ll learn the basics of patternmaking and apply them to your own upcycling designs.

What will I leave with after the workshop?

You will leave with custom patterns for upcycling your garments, as well as a professional ruler set and case. You’ll also have the knowledge to continue creating your own upcycled designs after the workshop!

How do I get to D4D Studios by public transit?

Accepted Answer

Subway:
Take the A, C, or E trains to 34th St-Penn Station (Exit at 8th Ave).
Walk 5 minutes north to 252 W 38th St.
Alternatively, take the 1, 2, or 3 trains to 34th St-Penn Station and walk 5 minutes to the venue.
Bus:
Bus lines M34, M16, and M42 all stop within walking distance of our studio.

Is the studio accessible by wheelchair?
