Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) - A parent workshop
This free workshop explores PDA, why everyday demands can feel so overwhelming, and discuss practical support for your neurodivergent child.
PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance) workshop for parents in Waltham Forest.
This workshop is designed to help parents understand PDA and why everyday demands, big or small, can feel so overwhelming for children with a PDA profile.
You’ll learn what PDA is, how to recognise signs of demand avoidance, and practical, low-demand approaches you can use throughout the day to support your child’s wellbeing, confidence, and sense of safety.
The session is for parents and carers of neurodivergent children, or anyone wanting to better understand their child’s needs and gain practical tools in a supportive space. You can expect real‑life examples, time for questions, and strategies you can put into action straight away.
The workshop is led by our Neurodiversity Therapeutic Practitioner, who specialises in supporting neurodivergent children and their families.
