Passport to Health and Wellness Expo

The New England 14th Bi-Annual Spring Benefit EXPO to be held May 4, 2025. The Holistic Community Professionals is offering The Passport to Health & Wellness Expo.

The event is scheduled for Sunday, May 4, 2025 from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM at The DoubleTree by Hilton 42 Century Drive Bristol, CT 06010. The Expo is FREE to attend. Donations are accepted for the benefit organization. Also the tea cup raffle will benefit (IC911.org) with items donated from all the exhibitors. The benefit Expo is presented by the Holistic Community Professionals and will feature speakers on the half hour beginning at 11:00AM, with the Keynote speaker at 1:00 PM includes a Q & A following the lecture. Our Keynote Speaker will be Dr. Madhava Setty. Keynote Speaker Dr. Madhava Setty, Author, Physician, Engineer will speak at 1:00pm. His topic; “When experts disagree, how is the truth revealed - a doctors’ perspective.” A Q&A will follow his lecture.

The event will have more than 75 vendors offering hands on body workers as well as holistic wellness products and treatments. A free Soundscape Collective ( bring your drums) with Katie Cavanagh will be offered from 4pm-5pm to close out the event. Keynote Speaker Dr. Madhava Setty, Author, Physician, Engineer will speak on May 4, 2025 at the Passport to Health and Wellness EXPO at 1:00pm. His topic; “When experts disagree, how is the truth revealed - a doctors’ perspective.” The EXPO runs from 10am-4pm with speakers all day and 75 exhibitors showcasing their offerings. Admission is free to the public. The EXPO is offered by the Holistic Community Professionals.

Setty is a Board Certified Anesthesiologist with 18 years of clinical experience. Through his close observation of patients under anesthesia he began to suspect that we may very well be misconceiving what it means to be aware, alive and awake. What else are we misconceiving? We invite you to consider another way of looking at the world that we have created. He is the only child of parents that immigrated to the United States from South India in 1965. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from M.I.T. (‘88) and worked in the Aerospace and Defense Industries for six years. In the spring of 1992 he participated in a research expedition to the polar ice cap funded by the Office of Naval Research. That experience at the “top of the world” completely changed his life. He was no longer willing to participate in any effort that wasn’t directed to the alleviation of suffering on this planet.

He received his medical education at Baylor College of Medicine (‘98) and training in Anesthesiology at The University of Pennsylvania (‘02), becoming a Diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology in 2003 and been in clinical practice since 2002. During the Covid Pandemic he served as the Senior Science Editor for “The Defender”, the on-line publication of Children’s Health Defense. He is also a Science Advisor to the International Center for 9/11 Justice.

Closely observing thousands of patients under Anesthesia led him to ask fundamental questions around ideas that have gone unchallenged for a very long time: What does it mean to be awake? Does awareness require a functioning body or does it arise of its own? He was astounded to realize that our understanding of who we are as conscious beings is based on assumptions that can easily be overturned if we are willing to examine them openly. It turns out that unchallenged assumptions underpin our understanding of much of the world outside of the Operating Room as well. It is a matter of how closely we are willing to look… A Q& A will be part of the lecture at the EXPO. Limited reserved seating and free general admission seating are available on EventBrite.
