Pass the Flame- Education Open House
Few professions are as important to society as teachers. The Winona State University-Rochester Teacher Education program invites you to join a new generation of teachers. Become a teacher and help “pass the flame” of education within our community.
Join us for a special alumni and prospective student open house and networking event on Thursday, February 27 from 5-7 PM at the STEM Village in the Heintz Center. Free tacos will be provided by Taco JED.
5:00 PM- Networking and Tacos
5:30 PM- Panel Discussion and Q&A
6:00 PM- Academic Planning and Application Assistance
Network with local teachers and alumni from the WSU-Rochester Elementary Education program to learn about their career paths. Meet with faculty and staff from WSU-Rochester to learn how you can earn your Minnesota licensure in Elementary Education (K-6).
Whether you have an associate degree or already have a bachelor’s in a different field, you can earn your Bachelor of Science Teaching Degree in Elementary Education from Winona State University by taking classes on nights and weekends.
There will be plenty of time for one-on-one conversations and individual academic planning during this event. We’ll even help you start the application process that night!
This event will highlight our Elementary Education Nights & Weekend program, a great option for working professionals to obtain their Bachelor of Science Teaching Degree in Elementary Education through WSU. We will also be talking about the teaching profession in general and helping prospective students find their path to a successful career as an educator.
Pass the flame... and pass the tacos!
(Did we mention the free tacos from Rochester's very own Taco JED?)
Let’s get together to “taco-about” your future as a teacher!
Alumni and current teachers are invited to join us as well to share their experiences. Alumni can register to participate through Winona State University Alumni & Friends at: https://www.alumni.winona.edu/2020-pass-the-flame-alumni--recruitment-event
