About this event

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY - This event is for Beginning & Intermediate Women only.

* We do not play CO-ED!

We reserve the right to refund tickets to people who do not observe our rules.

This group serves women and non-binary people who want to learn to play excruciatingly slow, non-competitive, friendly soccer. We have players of all ages, (although you must be 18+ plus to join).

You don’t have to be a good runner, very skilled, or in great athletic shape. This is a group that stresses learning through playing and making lots and lots of mistakes. If you have never played soccer and find yourself late in life curious about it then- This is your group! If you have an inner Megan Rapinoe or Tobin Heath that needs to be explored. Then- this is also your group! This group is low commitment week-to-week sign-up. You do not have to sign up every week to be a member. Please RSVP on Eventbrite or on Meet-Up!

GAME DAY

We meet each weekend for a two-hour soccer extravaganza. At the beginning of each meet up we take attendance and divide into teams 5v5, 6v6, or 7v7. Once teams are divided people who show up late will not be allowed to play, (we highly advise you show up fifteen minutes early to stretch and put on cleats, shin guards, socks, etc.) The games run for 25-30 minutes with short water breaks.

The game will include corner kicks, throw-ins, and goal kicks. There are no offsides or goalies. If you do not know what a corner kick or a throw-in is don’t worry about it. We will break these concepts down before the start of the games.

The RULES

1. Be on Time

2. No apologies. (Female soccer players tend to over-apologize when they make mistakes on the field. It can be a real “sorry fest,” so no apologies)

3. Pass to beginners!!!

4. No dive tackling

5. We play Positions, defense, midfield, wingers, center-mid, forwards. - (If you do not know how to play a position this will be explained prior to the game).

6. No ball hogging.

7. No contact

8. Don’t push beginners off the ball. Give beginners time to make decisions with the ball.

9. Don’t try to over-coach beginners it’s better to let them learn from their mistakes.

10. We rotate positions so you will experience playing defense, midfield, and forward all in one day. #lifeskillz
