Description

This great weekend in Greater Parkersburg will start Friday, September 13th with a Free Glow Paddle up the Little Kanawha River from Point Park at 8 p.m. We encourage all participants to decorate their kayak with glow sticks, glow paint, battery operated lights. One white light is required on the bow of each craft. Overnight boat staging will be available to all main event participants. We will provide overnight security (Friday night only).

Saturday, September 14th is the main event, Parkersburg Paddlefest on the Ohio River which is closed to commercial traffic (8 a.m. - 2 p.m.) for Paddlefest participants. Paddle from Point Park to the West Virginia side of Blennerhassett Island and land at the second ramp. Once there, participants will have the opportunity to explore the island and join in the activities awaiting them there. You will then have time to visit the island before your return paddle to The Point Park. Kayaks will be available to rent for this event. Rental will include boat, paddle & lifejacket. Tandem kayaks also available.
