About this event

Connect Marricvkille School as Community Centre and Marrickville District Lawn Tennis Club are teaming up to offer tennis sessions for parents in the Inner West thanks to a grant from Inner West Council.

A fun way to get active while keeping the little ones entertained. An early childhood facilitator will support parents and children as they play and engage with the tennis coach. Grab your ticket and let us know how many children you are bringing.


This weekly program will run for 10 weeks.

When: Wednesdays from 1 May until 3 July 2024

Can I bring children to this program?

Yes! Children that are not yet in school are welcome to attend with you. We will have a early childhood trained facilitator to support activities for the little ones.

Is this a weekly program?

Yes! This program will happen over 10 weeks on Wednesdays beginning on 1 May and ending on 3 July.

What do I need to bring?

Wear comfortable clothes you can get active in. Close toed sneakers are best footwear. Pack some snacks for your little one. Tennis equipment can be provided.Sunscreen and waterbottle sun hat. If you have a racquet, please bring it.

Do I need to have children to attend?

This group is designed for parents with young children at home. We've created this space to allow parents to attend with their young child(ren) as we know that staying physically active can be tricky with little ones in tow!

Is parking available?

Parking is available along Livingstone Rd and Frazer St. There is also street parking on Porter Ave. Parents will need to walk through the park to enter the Marrickville District Lawn Tennis Club near the oval.

Are there changing facilities?

Yes! Marrickville District Lawn Tennis has a change table and shower facilities.

Is the site accessible for prams or wheelchairs?

Yes, the area is accessible for entry to the Club and courts. The toilet area is not pram accessible.

Is there a kitchen?

Yes, coffee and tea will be available as well a microwave if needed.

What happens if it rains?

Decisions will be made the morning of the program each week. Participants will be alerted via a text message and email if the program will be cancelled due to wet weather.

Do I need to come every week?

We know with young children, life can be unpredictable. This program is set up to build up skills so we hope you can make a weekly effort to attend!

Would injuries be covered under insurance of the Club?

There is no personal injury insurance provided for participants. All participants are strongly encouraged to carry their own health insurance. It is the sole responsibility of each participant to secure adequate insurance to cover any injuries or damages they might sustain.
