Little Lake County

As part of our <A HREF="http://www.littlelakecounty.com/category/give-back/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Little Lake County Gives Back</A> program we have partnered with Great Lakes Credit Union to give families an opportunity to spread kindness through hands on parent/child volunteer events. These events will allow parents and children to give back to their community by working side by side to help a charity.
Our first event is Monday May 15, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. at Bernie's Book Bank.

Parents and children will be working side by side at the warehouse in Lake Bluff to sort and sticker books. This is an activity that is suited for the whole family! Children as young as preschoolers can help and make a difference.
Every parent/child pair that joins us on May 15 will receive a t-shirt with our "Kindness Begins With Me" image on it. Children will also get to meet Kirby the Kangaroo from GLCU.  This event is best suited for children who are of preschool age and older. Toddlers that are accustomed to being in school or groups and can follow directions are welcome; babies in arms or carriers are always welcome. Every parent in attendance must be registered with a child; every child must be registered with a parent in attendance at the event. Bernie’s Book Bank requires a 1 to 4 ratio of adults to children, so we are asking parents to bring no more than two (2) children each. Parents will need to <A HREF="http://files.ctctcdn.com/8d136cb6101/7629ec52-aac3-4de6-8f87-73bc06465e9c.pdf" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">sign a waiver </A>for all children. (Please see rules below.)
Participation in this event is extremely limited; please register your parent/child pair early to reserve your spot. Participants that register by April 1 will get to request their shirt size; any registrants after that date will still receive a shirt but will not be able to request a size.
To make an even larger impact, we encourage you to clean off your book shelves and bring books to donate to the event!

<LI>There must be one adult present for the entire session for every four children under the age of 16.</LI>
<LI>All volunteers under age 16 who are volunteering with an adult other than their parent/legal guradian must have a signed copy of <A HREF="http://files.constantcontact.com/8d136cb6101/7629ec52-aac3-4de6-8f87-73bc06465e9c.pdf?ver=1451945421000" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Volunteer/Parental Consent form </A>with them to volunteer. </LI>
<LI>The processing center is a warehouse facility, please wear closed toe shoes.</LI>

Every person in attendance needs to be registered!
