Parent/Caregiver Workshop: Medical Issues in Eating Disorders

Target Audience:

This workshop is great for parents/caregivers of children, adolescents or young adults with EDs who/whose:

• Pediatrician may have a limited understanding of eating disorders
• Would benefit from more education about development and weight targets
• Loved one is experiencing medical issues and/or co-occurring psychiatric issue

• Normal vs. abnormal growth and development
• Setting target weights
• Medical complications and their treatments
• Co-occurring Psychiatric issues and their treatments
• How and where to get ED informed medical care
• Working with your current pediatrician
• How and when to see an ED specialist care

About the Presenter:

Dr. Sarah Lowenthal is a Board Certified Family Physician and Certified Eating Disorders Specialist (CEDS) who has a private practice in Mill Valley, CA specializing in medical care for children, adolescents and adults with eating disorders.
