Parent Workshop: Navigating Learning Challenges Through the School Years

At Academy MetroWest, our staff of professional counselors help kids improve the way they view themselves—  and the way they interact with others. We provide kids with a fun and supportive way to learn to make friends and become part of a welcoming and receptive community.Our focus? We use a variety of cooperative physical activities and games in a gym-based setting. Our clients, children between the ages of six and 16, participate in groups that meet weekly during the school year and in our summer camp.At Academy MetroWest we strive to help children:Improve self-imageDevelop and enhance social skillsDevelop physical self-confidence and improved body imageImprove frustration toleranceRelax and reduce stressChannel and focus energy constructivelyLearn more aboutour social skills programand get answers tofrequently asked questions.

<DIV>Academy MetroWest is proud to present <STRONG>Dr. Joseph Moldover, Psy.D,</STRONG> a highly respected neuropsychologist with a private practice in Wellesley.<I> Doctor Moldover's presentation is entitled <STRONG>Navigating the Schools Years: Understanding Learning, Social, and Executive Functioning Challenges from Kindergarten through Adulthood</STRONG>.<SPAN CLASS="Apple-converted-space"> </SPAN></I>It's a lifespan perspective focusing on how the same issue looks very different at different ages and in different settings. Parents of a child with one particular disability or learning difference might have one experience in 2nd grade and another in middle school, and parents of a child with LBLD a totally different course. This workshop is open to the public and admission is free. RSVPs are greatly appreciated. </DIV>
