Join us at Gillingham Charter School on Wednesday, June 12 beginning at 6:30 pm to learn more about our tuition-free K-12 grade charter school.

At Gillingham Charter School, we believe in nurturing each child's unique potential through a personalized approach to learning for our K-12 students. Our model is built upon the following pillars:

1. Unique Relational Approach:  We understand that children are persons and have a natural desire to learn and live fully, and we offer students a 'banquet of learning' to put them in relationship with the vast inheritance of knowledge around them - with others, ideas, and the natural world - through rich language and real experiences.

2. Small Class Sizes: With small class sizes, our dedicated educators can provide the attention and support necessary for every student to excel academically and grow personally.

3. Broad Curriculum: We follow the unique relational Charlotte Mason approach that fits the way students learn and teaches them hard skills and soft skills of critical thinking. Our broad curriculum includes Spanish and Latin, Shakespeare, living books, classics, hands-on math, living science, nature studies, and the arts and sports for all students.

4. Community Engagement: Collaboration is key to success. We actively involve parents, teachers, and the community to create a supportive and inclusive environment where every voice is valued.

5. Character Development: Education extends beyond the classroom. Through our character education program, we instill values such as respect, responsibility, and integrity, preparing students to become compassionate and principled citizens.

During our Parent Information Night, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Meet our passionate faculty and staff
  • Take a tour of our campus
  • Learn about our diverse curriculum using the Charlotte Mason model

Imagine a school where every student, K through 12, learns Latin or Spanish, plays a musical instrument, studies STEM, nature, and Singapore math…

Where their love of learning is nourished by great books and ideas in a beautiful, rich, community-oriented environment…

Where the focus is on the whole child, not just the tests.

Gillingham offers a Relational Education that is based on the ideas of Charlotte Mason.

This way of educating is deeply rooted in two primary principles:

1. Children are persons and have a natural desire to learn and to live fully.

2. We offer students a “banquet of learning” to put them in relationship with the vast inheritance of knowledge around them—with others, ideas, and the natural world—through rich language and real experiences.

Why Choose Us?

Students don’t come to Gillingham merely to hang out with friends, learn facts, pass a test, or to prepare for college. Students come to feed their minds and their souls. Here, they love to learn and they learn to live and author a full life, rich in relationships with self, others, nature, and ideas.

Here they can find their purpose.

For the children’s sake, Gillingham Charter School cultivates a respectful learning organization based upon the belief that children are, foremost, persons.

The nourishment of relationships, habits, and ideas through a Relational Education not only prepares students for future education, but also fosters within them an avid desire for a life of learning, enabling them to author their own lives confidently and resiliently.
