PARENT EFFECTIVENESS TRAINING, Fall 2019

Margaret Pasquesihad taken PET so many times that long time instructor Father Paddy Tyrell finally suggested that she get certified by Gordon Training International to teach it.  We hope that you will laugh and be relieved to hear the stories of how her imperfect parenting improves by using these skills with her two middle school aged girls.Liz Swider,as a pediatrician and mother of two elementary aged boys, is always struggling to achieve some imaginary balance between working part time and being a mom.  Her interest in development and trying to make sense of parenting has brought her to PET and she is now certified by Gordon Training International as well.

Ever wish children came with an instruction manual? They do! Parent Effectiveness Training (P.E.T.) offers proven communication skills that really work. When parents use these skills, they are amazed at the dramatic improvements in their families and in all their relationships. P.E.T. was created by Dr. Thomas Gordon (three-time Nobel Peace Prize nominee) in 1962. Over the nearly 50 years P.E.T. has been around, it’s been revised and updated with new content and examples that address the problems, issues and concerns of today’s parents. <LI>Class meets every Wednesday evening from 6:30-9:00pm for eight sessions, starting September 18, 2019 and ending November 6th, 2019.  </LI>
<LI>Cost of tuition includes materials, and the rest of the proceeds go entirely to the OLPH Youth Group. </LI>
<LI>Tuition for one person from each family is $200; each additional person from the same family is only $100. If you have attended class before, tuition is free! We only ask that you pay the cost of the new PET Workbook (which started Fall 2018) and costs $30. Simply register on this site, and bring your textbook from the last time you took the class. Please register per person who will be attending. </LI>
