The one-day conference will be held at four different locations across the state of Oklahoma. Each location will feature motivational speaker Quinton Jones, who will present on ways to inspire and motivate others to reach their best potential. The conference will also include breakout sessions focused on topics such as Behavior, Teaching Strategies, and Trauma.
In the afternoon, attendees will sit in on a presentation from Dr. Matthew Wappett, the Exeuctive Director for the Institute for Disability Research, Policy & Practice at Utah State University. His presentation will focus on providing paraprofessionals with the tools they need to manage their stress, and the skills they need to become more resilient.
The Office of Special Education Services is offering the conference as a way for paraprofessionals to obtain 6 hours of professional development. The professional development hours may be used to maintain paraprofessional certification.
