Parallelizing Python: Transitioning Beyond One Core

We are happy to announce that the HPC Club will be hosting a workshop on parallelizing Python code. Specifically, the workshop will focus on scaling your code beyond a single core or even a single node! The instructors will be members from the Northwest Institute for Advanced Computing (NIAC) and Pacific Northwest National Lab (PNNL). The workshop will be on October 11th and 12th, from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm both days and the following topics will be covered:

<LI>General Parallelization Essentials</LI>
<LI>Parallelization Packages in Python</LI>
<LI>Using PyCUDA to Parallelize Across GPUs</LI>
<LI>Prototyping Code in Python and Migrating it to C++</LI>
</UL>
This workshop is only open to UW graduate students and postdocs with experience in Python. Please discuss with your lab mates prior to registering as we are asking that there are no more than 3 members from a single research group attending the workshop. This is to ensure that we can have a diverse audience spanning multiple disciplines. Space is limited at 25 spots so be sure to secure your spot!
