AbstractThis workshop will provide an overview of parallel programming concepts using the multiprocessing and threading python packages. We will introduce some use cases and discuss where parallelization helps you speed up your calculations.Objectives:By the end of the workshop attendees will be able to:Understand the differences between multithreading and multiprocessingUnderstand commonly used strategies for parallelizing a serial python codeUse multithreading and multiprocessing packages for some illustrative examples Duration: 1-2 hoursLevel: IntermediatePrerequisites: Attendees should have basic familiarity with Python. An RCC account is helpful but not required.
