Paper Marbling 

Kelly Laughlinis an artist and creative wellness facilitator who focuses on the playful, meditative acts of making. She believes every person is capable of living a creative life and is excited to work with you in class. Kelly is the founder ofOdette Press, a small batch paper marbling and bookbinding studio specializing in stationery and journals created in nature with the intention to support self discovery through the act of writing.

About the class: Learn the creative and meditative process of water-based marbling, or suminagashi, with Kelly Laughlin, local artist and bookbinder. Characterized by delicate tendrils of colorful inks and swirling patterns, pigment sit on top of the water's surface and is moved by breath, brush, or tool. Paper is then set on the surface of the water, capturing the floating lines and shapes. Explore a variety of techniques, discuss how to explore this process at home, and create a collection of marbled paper designs for use in your own creative endeavors. 
What you'll walk away with: a collection of unique marbled papers and the knowledge of how to create your own suminagashi set up at home. 
About the venue: Trohv is an "inventive, independently-owned shop featuring home goods and gifts" located on the Avenue in Hampden.
