PantherLAN Spring 2019

Georgia State is organizing practice suites and a venue for tournament play and offering a small number of scholarships to supplement HOPE awards for those qualifying for National Association of Collegiate Esports tournament play. The Georgia Esports League plans to provide scholarships to students winning statewide events.Orientation sessions and competitions to fill team slots with the most talented players are on-going. GSU Esports

Georgia State University’s varsity esports program is hosting PantherLAN Esports Tournament, with live, in-arena finals on Saturday, April 6th at the Georgia State Sports Arena, 125 Decatur St., S.E., in Atlanta.
Doors will open at 8 a.m., with game play starting at 9 a.m. The event is free and open to the public, and will also be streamed through <A HREF="https://www.twitch.tv/georgiastateu" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://www.twitch.tv/georgiastateu</A> and <A HREF="https://www.twitch.tv/georgiagamedevs" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://www.twitch.tv/georgiagamedevs</A>.
Games in which the teams will compete include Smite, Brawlhalla, Paladins, Overwatch, League of Legends, Hearthstone and Dragon Ball FighterZ.
There has been an explosion of interest from students thinking about careers in the $900 million eSports industry.
Georgia State University’s PantherLAN eSports Tournament and Varsity Team and University Career Services will be hosting an eSports Industry Event to connect students’ interest and talent into hiring opportunities for you.
Esports competitors make the perfect entry-level employees - tech savvy, passionate, and used to working in (and succeeding with) teams. This is your chance to: • Communicate the diverse opportunities around the business of eSports • Raise your brand • Connect with students
