About this event
- 4 hours
Nature in the City staff, SF Recreation & Parks Dept., and Friends of Palou Phelps welcome you to a community showcase of the ongoing habitat restoration and advocacy at this critical wildflower grassland and natural area.
This event will include meeting local community members and nature lovers and exploring the site to see the restoration efforts and the remnant ecosystem.
Details:
Over a several-year-long collaboration with San Francisco Rec and Parks and Nature in the City, Friends of Palou Phelps Park has restored natural habitat, cleaned the park, and hosted fun community-centered events.
Nature in the City has collaborated with the community on a City grant that added hundreds of native plants and fencing to protect sensitive habitats.
Learn more about these projects and how you can preserve open space for years to come, enjoy the park at the tail end of wildflower season, join us for snacks, and come along on a guided walk up the hillside with NTC staff.
Meeting Location:
Palou Phelps Mini Park near 1801 Palou Ave, San Francisco, CA
Transportation:
The 24 and 44 Muni go past the park, with the cross street, Palou Avenue. Parking is fairly easy in the neighborhood.
Weather:
