DESCRIPTION:Let’s Paint! The practice of painting has always been a way artists can express ideas, emotions and themselves. We will begin the workshop exploring the fundamentals of composition, color, value, and light. Students will work in a number of mediums (watercolor, tempra and acrylic) and strengthen their observational drawing skills, practice color theory and have a better understanding of value and form. Using traditional demonstrations and explanations, students will work on landscape, still life and figure paintings, using their own artistic voice. At the end of the week, students will have completed a number of paintings and have gained confidence and an appreciation for this classic art making genre.
