Painting With Unique Objects

Leslie Archibald is a Houston based writer and reader. Leslie Archibald, a graduate of the University of Houston, writes poetry, flash fiction, and nonfiction in a tiny home office in Houston, Texas. When she is not writing, you may find her roaming the city photographing Houston’s unique character, dabbling in watercolors, and exploring genre bending and multimedia literature. She volunteers with Houston's writing community  and as a slush reader  for with Interstellar Flight Press  and local anthology submission calls. She is the winner of the 2017 Spider Road Press Spider’s Web Flash Fiction Competition for her piece "Sherry Baby."Leslie has always been interested in  photography and has taken courses at Houston Center for Photography. Late in 2023, she began experimenting  with watercolor painting and  played with merging the two. After several tries and ruined photographs, she found the right printer, the right paper and the patience to create her  merged series which led to the creation of LA Literary and Visual Arts and a visual arts page where prints of her work can now be viewed and purchased.

We are going to forget all of that in this creative session.In this session we will create unique and beautiful art with different objects you may find in your household. Join me in a creative session on using unique objects to create unique art. I supply the tools. You just bring a willingness to experiment and have fun. Leslie began to pursue her interest in visual art in late 2023 and has been studying paint techniques and history to grow her portfolio. In addition to her award-winning flash piece “Sherry Baby” included in the special section of Companion of the Ash released in December 2018, her work may be found in Tales of Texas Vol 2, Synkroniciti Magazine Vol 5 No.4 and Vol 6 No.4, The Best of Interstellar Flight Magazine: Years 2, 3 and 4, and online at Interstellar Flight press magazine. Her poem She Dances in Indigo was chosen for Colorstory2023. Her chapbook Poems for a Broken Marriage Man is forthcoming from Finishing Line Press.
