About this event

Paddle approximately 5 nautical miles from the Troy boat ramp to Anderson Island (near the Kentucky shoreline of the Ohio River) the first day, tent camp overnight on the island, then finish early the following day with another 6 nautical miles paddle across the Ohio River to Grandview, IN.

You will be required to sign a waiver before launching with us.

You must wear your life jacket during the paddle and have a white light on your boat (a headlamp will do in a pinch).


Shuttle Service Steps:

Drop off your equipment at the Troy boat ramp between 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. CST where a Paddle Perry volunteer will watch your equipment while you drop off your vehicle in Grandview.

Park your vehicle at the Grandview boat ramp (approximately 15 minute drive one way) and take our shuttle back to Troy. The shuttle will leave the Grandview boat ramp at 11:30 a.m. CST. Don't be late!


What to Pack:

• Life jacket - no exceptions.

• You will need to provide your own camping gear (i.e. tent, sleeping pad/bag, etc). Pack accordingly and do not over pack. If you have questions on what to pack reach out to us at info@paddleperry.com

• White light (preferably 360degree light for your boat, a headlamp will do in a pinch)

• Bug spray, Sunscreen, Personal Hygiene items.

• Appropriate clothing (Learn more here: https://www.rei.com/learn/expert-advice/kayaking-what-to-wear.html)

• Snacks, drinks, dinner and breakfast.


Itinerary:

Saturday, June 8:

- 10:00-11:00 a.m. CST Drop off boats and equipment at Troy boat ramp.

- 11:30 a.m. CST Shuttle departs Grandview (arrive at Troy approx. 11:50 a.m.)

- 12:00 p.m. CST Depart Troy

- 3:00/4:00 p.m. CST Arrive at Anderson Island and set up camp

- 5:00 p.m. CST Dinner provided by Paddle Perry (all beef hot dogs with bread and condiments, chips, bottled water -- if you have any dietary restrictions please plan accordingly).


Sunday, June 9:

- 8:00 a.m. CST Coffee & Breakfast provided by Paddle Perry (eggs, sausage, bread, bottled water -- if you have any dietary restrictions please plan accordingly).

- 9:00 a.m. CST Depart Anderson Island

- 12:00 p.m. CST Arrive in Grandview. If you took the shuttle, your vehicle will already be on site. Otherwise, you will need to make your own arrangements after the paddle.

--- If there is an emergency and you need to leave early, contact one of the guides to assist in getting you back to Grandview safely.

--- If you used the shuttle service, your vehicle will be in Grandview upon your arrival. If you'd like to leave earlier or stay later you may; however, you will no long be covered under Paddle Perry's event insurance and Paddle Perry, Inc. will not be held liable.

--- If you are renting a Paddle Perry equipment you will be required to leave at the 9:00 a.m. departure time.



Kayak Rentals

If you need to rent a kayak/paddle/life jacket you may select the "Add-On" for your ticket. Someone from Paddle Perry will be in contact with you to confirm your reservation and make the arrangements.

Equipment is limited. First come, first serve.
