Sew a personalized packable hammock for a fraction of what it would cost to buy one! 32 ft. seat belt rigging is included. 
Meet at the Idea Forge Commons Sewing Cabinet and look for a sign indicating workshop location. Depending on the Commons availability, the workshop may be held elsewhere in the Idea Forge.
You will need around 4 hours to make this project. To finish your hammock, please sign up for <A HREF="https://www.eventbrite.com/e/intro-to-outdoor-soft-goods-packable-hammock-part-2-tickets-55020611129" TARGET="_blank">Packable Hammock Part 2</A> (free), or if you feel ambitious, you can work on your own with the help of a hammock instruction packet (hanging on the door on the inside of the Sewing Cabinet). 
Completion of workshop session will give you access to the sewing cabinet--available for use during Idea Forge Commons open hours. The workshop instructor will provide you with the padlock combination.
This workshop will certify you in use of the sewing machines and irons, and provide an overview of basic outdoor soft goods design concepts including material prep, seam allowances, structural seams, seam reinforcement, and safe rigging.
