A group of talented local musicians explore the intersection of blues and rock through the work of Janis Joplin, Bonnie Raitt, Sharon Jones and Susan Tedeschi.

Since its inception, rock music has been informed by the blues. Although dominated by men, the blues- rockmodality has evolved and proliferated with the contribution of women artists who have colored and enriched themedium.

Amy Stahlin (Stella Blues Band, MKU, Finders Keepers) has brought together a group of talented musicians featuring female vocalists to perform the music of some of the leading women of blues-based rock. Ms. Stahlin will besharing the vocal leads with Cassandra House (The Cassandra House Band), Ann “Annie Mac” MacInerny(Jellyband, Funkin-A) and Crystal Zagarello (MKU and Pink Flaw’d). The vocalists will be backed by a group of premier local musicians from the bands listed above as well as the many variations therein. Also featured are a dozen women guest vocalists from our rich local scene who will contribute one number apiece. The performance willinclude familiar favorites as well as some surprises. This event is truly a celebration of sisters in song.

This free concert is sponsored by the Patchogue Arts Council and Jerry Jam LI. Suggested donations are $10.
