P2DNZ – Dairy Processing Workstream – Workshop

Every aspect of the dairy industry can play a part in lowering overall GHG emissions. The Pathways to Dairy Net Zero (P2DNZ) Dairy Processing Workstream is helping the dairy sector lower its climate impact within the processing phase. Be part of this exciting initiative by joining the workstream at its first in-person workshop on May 28-30, 2024 in Chicago.

The workstream focuses on receiving, pasteurization, transfers and storage, and cleaning in place (CIP). The scope of each of the areas will include the following: <ol><li>Evaluate each step to see if it can be avoided, finding alternatives where possible.</li><li>Optimize processes to reduce emissions where avoidance isn't feasible.</li><li>Identify opportunities to recover and exchange energy with other processes.</li><li>List legislative restrictions on Best Solutions, highlighting for external action.</li><li>Establish an energy consumption baseline for future impact measurement. The workshop aims to collectively define the above areas, including deliverables and timelines while considering the impact on different regions.</li></ol> <h3>Location and Accommodations</h3>The workshop will be held at 10255 W.
