This year's 12th Annual Orgullo y Educacion (OYE)

Cañada College

Celebrate 12 years with us by bringing together hundreds of local teens and young adults ages 12 to 22. This day is an opportunity for youth and their parents to explore questions of identity and purpose, and build community through a fun and interactive day that includes hands-on workshops, inspirational speakers, artistic expression, community resource sharing, and networking.We will have performances, interactive workshops, resource tables and free breakfast and lunch for all in-person participants.The OYE Planning Committee 2024 looks forward to celebrating with you!OYE is a Fiscally Sponsored Project of the Redwood City Parks and Arts Foundation.

This year we welcome Alejandro Vilchez, a non-profit consultant and dynamic speaker. He has always focused on youth development despite the many roles he has had in the community. As an independent consultant, Vilchez helps support schools, local governments, and organizations as they work to create safer environments and greater cultural competency. He has co-founded the anti-bullying program KLEAR (Kids Learning Empathy and Respect) as well as coordinated national gang peace summits. We are excited for Alejandro Vilchez to join our OYE Community!

We would also like to welcome School Yard Rap to this year's OYE conference. School Yard Rap is a performance group that specializes in educational curriculum. Their mission is to vastly improve the learning experiences of learners of all ages. Their performances are captivating and empowering for people of all ages to watch. We are grateful and excited to welcome School Yard Rap this year!
